CHAIRMAN’S CHATTER

Many thanks to all those who took the time to write comments on their renewal forms. Phil has written to convey this officially in the Newsletter but I wanted to especially thank those who wrote to encourage us. Statements urging us to “keep going” and “to keep up the good work” are great to read when life is a bit tough and decisions have to be made. The comments reminded me of Paul when he was writing to the Philippians saying he was pressing on to the goal and thus encouraging them to do the same.

To be able to encourage people is an important trait that I feel we all need to develop. We are often too quick to criticise. Criticism is needed in order for the Club to change and develop but it needs to be balanced. Maybe if we take Paul’s words to the Colossians in ch.4v6 to heart we might be able to achieve this balance - “Let your conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone”

Encouraging people verbally is good, but it is also lovely for the committee to see folk beginning to feel confident enough to start to exercise leadership skills. The AGM is fast approaching and all the committee posts fall vacant. Please pray for God’s leading in this, and to show members whether it is right for them to help the club in this way. If you would like to know more please do contact me, or any of the other committee members.

Take care

Julie
