CHAIRMANS CHATTER
I helped a friend clear out her spare room the other weekend and as we were loading the car to go to the skip, my friend commented that a family who regularly `door knocked the street, were on their way down the road. They stopped to say hello and asked if the youngest child could read a verse to us from their bible and leave a leaflet. Its hard to say no to a child so we duly listened. However the road was really noisy so I could not catch all of what she read out, but the leaflet headline caught my eye `Its not fair! and I guess the verse read backed this up in some way.
But it made me think of Psalm 73, where the Psalmist admits to nearly slipping because of he began to think in this way. All he could see was the `prosperity of the wicked while the `good were suffering. He really struggled with this and admits in v16 that it `When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive to me but he went on to say `till I entered the sanctuary of God, then I understood their final destiny (v17).
His situation hadnt changed but his attitude had as he began to see things in an eternal light.
I hope that if we are tempted to think in this way that we will also learn to look at things through Gods eyes and remember his promises to us that one day He will make all things right and wipe away each tear.
Take care
Julie
