CHAIRMANS CHATTERChairmans chatter
The promises of God are many and precious. They help to cheer and encourage us on in our walk with God. No doubt you will have your favourite one, how about sharing it with us?
We have been looking at the story of Noah and the promises of God with our youngest youth group at church. In order to help the children remember the story we drew rainbows in a blue sky.
I like rainbows on a dark stormy sky they stand out so bright and colourful. But rainbows are not only decorative, they have a purpose. They serve to remind God (not us) of His covenant made with mankind never to totally destroy the earth again (Gen 9 v12-17).
God is faithful in keeping His promises and as we approach the season of Advent we see the fulfilment of some of those promises. The coming of His Son who lived a perfect life in order to pay the price that God required for our sins so that we might be brought back into fellowship with God. He will also fulfil those promises of the future about Jesus returning again, this time not as a baby but as Judge and King. He will take those who belong to Him to the place prepared for them (John 14 v1-4). Are you ready?
I hope that this Advent time will be a reminder of not only of what God has done, but also of what He will do in the future.
Have a lovely Christmas.
Julie
