What are some of your favourite promises in the Bible? What do you feel has been repeatedly special to you?...
For I
know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for a future
and a hope.....
Lo, I am
with you always....,
...all
things work together for good to them that love God..... ,
And my God will supply all your needs in Christ Jesus.....
Any of these wonderful words?
I think it can make it easier to pray for situations if we can recall some of what the Lord promises for in various circumstances:
Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for
in due season we will reap, if we faint not (Gal
Is there someone you know who feels discouraged?
Lord, please
help this person not to feel like giving up, but know
that what they are doing in your strength will bear fruit that
you intended.
The Lord will guide you continually (Is 58:11).
Is there someone you know who needs guidance?
Lord, you have said this so please help them hear your voice behind them, saying this is the way walk in it.
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all... (Jam 1:3).
Anyone need to make special decisions, or to decide on a course of action?
Lord, please help them to seek wisdom from you over this issue and to understand things from your standpoint.
I have found the promises helpful - as I need the Lords word to focus on when talking to the Lord, and be lifted myself at the same time. Recalling the promises all the time in daily life brings me immediately into the truth about my situation from the Lords standpoint, rather than just looking at the circumstances. The Lord gives us so much to help us in his walk with him.
Lord - thank you for your promises that help us to trust you in all things and learn more about you and your ways with us. Please help us to seek you through your promises. In Jesus name.

Thought for the walk
A Samaritan woman came to draw some water, and Jesus said to her, Give me a drink of water. (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
The woman answered, You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan - so how can you ask me for a drink? (Jews will not use the same cups and bowls that Samaritans use.)
Jesus answered, If only you knew
what God gives and who it is that is asking you for a drink, you
would ask him, and he would give you life-giving water.
